ICT world

When I was little, my toys were just a soft dolly, papers and rubber bands. Don't know what toys do Chavela's children play in the future?

Children see, children do

It is a wonderful video clip
http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=-2635018612333643688#

It was to let all adult Australians know that they have an influence on children within their community and that they can make a difference to children's wellbeing.

As a teacher, as a parent, we have to be a good role model for children.

Enjoy.

Thoughts from the Netsafe's workshop on 8 Sept

Hi all

I have learnt something from the workshop yesterday. I have found that there were some risks / issues within internet safety which I have never thought before.

In the reality, we have no choice to choose whether we use or don't use technology and ICT as these things are part of our daily lives. I very agreed with Nancy said that ICT is to support learning and teaching.

What do you think about the workshop yesterday?

Have you got an incident book in your centre?

Do you think you are a good cybercitizen?

Please share...

P.S. After your semester break, we will start looking at 'social sciences'

Photos on your blog

Hi all

Thanks for the people who have raised the issue. It is actually anybody view your blog. If you do not want the photos would be viewed by others.

The quick solutions are
1) delete all photos with children's faces
2) only upload the photos with objects, places, animals, plants, etc.
3) clip arts would be another option

Remember you won't get mark down without having photos on your blog.

Hope this helps. Please let me know if you have any questions.

A talk from Bronwyn, Botany Downs Kindergarten

After Bronwy's talk yesterday, what do you think about technology? What is your value of using technology in early childhood education?

Personally I very admire that they take up the challenges and their commitment and passion on technology. They use technology as a learning and teaching tool for supporting children's learning and development as well as connecting families and friends from overseas.

Technology can also be used in different curriculum areas, learning experiences and all children.

It was amazing to see how technology works in early childhood education.

A few things

Hope you all are getting the consent form ready. Just friendly a reminder that you need to have different literatures to back up your reflections and a reference list has to be posted after your 5th (final) reflection.

Something about your assignment 1

Hi all

Remember all reflections within your assignment 1 are about 'technology' and 'social sciences' e.g. Children are having a library visit, a baby is playing with a CD player, etc.
